How to use Worm Castings
Vegetables and Annuals
Sprinkle 1”-2” of worm castings on bottom and sides of plant holes or seed furrows; then add seeds, seedlings, or plants. Side dress with 1/2 cup per plant every 2-3 months.
Container Plants
NEW – Use 1 part worm castings with 3 parts soil or potting mix.
ESTABLISHED – Add 1”-2” of worm castings to top of soil; gently mix in, and water. Repeat every 2-3 months.
Perennials
Gently mix 1/2 cup of worm castings into the soil above the root zone. Take care not to damage shallow roots. Best to apply in spring, early summer, and fall.
Roses
NEW or TRANSPLANTED: Mix 1 part worm castings to 2 parts soil. Spread mixture evenly along the bottom and sides of plant hole; spread roots out over the mix, then cover with the mix.
MAINTENANCE: Gently work 4 cups of worm castings into soil above the root zone. Water and repeat every 2-3 months.
